Dog smell

Evening all.

I’m currently doggysitting my MIL’s pooch until Sunday.

The problem is is that he has a smell and I’m paranoid it’s not going to go away when he leaves. I took him out and he came back smelling terrible, so I bathed him. But I can still smell dog.

Will it go after the weekend? I’m really obsessed with smells and hate the thought of my home smelling. I’ve literally been lobbing zoflora around my house like I’m exercising a demon. Haha.

Thank you.

It will dissipate.

Use Zoflora carefully around the pooch - there have been warnings from vets about it harming animals.

Bicarbonate of soda, sprinkled liberally after he has left. Leave for a few hours, then vacuum. It absorbs niffs.

It'll go. Vacuum and wipe floors once he's gone. Open all windows and inner doors so air can circulate.

Don't use zoflora around an animal particularly a dog with a dog's very sensitive sense of smell. It's very toxic and you could make him ill.

Also remember it's not his fault he's stinky. He's probably missing his Mum and usual home too. So give him some pets and be kind to the poor stinker. Promise the smell will go once he's back home.

Thank you everyone for your responses.

Yup, it went as soon as he left and we had a lovely weekend with him.
