Out of general interest , how often do you hoover/vacuum your house ?

I vaccum downstairs everyday , and after meals (messy kids😂) , I hoover the stairs every two days and hoover upstairs every couple of days

Downstairs every day.
Stairs and upstairs usually once a week.

NotAlwaysRight · 23/04/2019 15:59

Whole house weekly, robot hoover most days downstairs (just click start on my way out of the door and when I return it's all done).

mrswife2kidsandadog · 23/04/2019 16:01

@notalwaysright is this an expensive robot hoover or one you can pick up on eBay for £40 ish . I was thinking about getting one . How good are they for picking up bits ?

Once a week Blush. My house definitely needs more hoovering!

Snowoctopus · 23/04/2019 16:05

Once a week!

MaverickSnoopy · 23/04/2019 16:07

A big hoover on a Monday after the weekend including under sofa cushions. Then a quick hoover daily but not at weekends. I hoover upstairs and stairs once a week.

Peanut91 · 23/04/2019 16:07

Once a week but if we have guests coming then I hoover the day they come

CabbageHippy · 23/04/2019 16:09

@mrswife2kidsandadog - I have one & absolutely love her but in my opinion if you get one definitely get a Roomba - nothing else comes close

foxyknoxy30 · 23/04/2019 16:13

Everyday if I could

NotAlwaysRight · 23/04/2019 17:00

I've got the roomba, bought it off amazon for £195 delivered about 7 years ago. They retail at much the same price now, and I hear they're much better than the rival companies. The only experience I have of that is one my parents got from Argos (can't remember the make) which died around 4 months later, but they didn't bother to get it repaired as they said it's not as good as mine!

I don't know if you can get them on eBay second hand but I'd be really surprised if people want to get rid of them! They company are really good too, as my wheel bearings went last month so they posted me new ones at £25, which for a hoover that's lasted 7 years already is pretty good in my books!

As for how well it works; I have a dog and have always had dyson animal vacuums but this one picks up better than that. The only thing is it takes longer which is why I press clean when I go out for an hour and it's done by the time I get back.

NotAlwaysRight · 23/04/2019 17:03

The thing about a roomba though is you can spend a huge amount of money for invisible walls, WiFi links, timers and all sorts of stuff. Mine is entry level and you have to physically press start, and if you want to keep it out of any rooms you have to physically close the door (no invisible walls). But that works fine for me!

Downstairs, every 3 hours to 3 days, depending on how messy the kids have been. Upstairs at least weekly but often more, depending on how many socks Ds2 has murdered.

dementedpixie · 23/04/2019 17:06

When the cat hair/ sock fluff starts to take over. Nor as much as once a week. Upstairs even less often

Shootingstar1115 · 25/04/2019 19:15

Whole house most days sometimes an extra hoover too cos I have messy kids and I also have a dog who constantly sheds. Doesn’t take too long because it’s kept on top of 😊

Sometimes I do miss a day if it’s not too messy. Which is rare tbh.

dudsville · 25/04/2019 19:17

Once or twice a week

LindsayDentonsCat · 25/04/2019 20:19

Daily or twice daily with the cordless downstairs and on the stairs. Weekly full hoover with the Henry upstairs and down.

JosephineHass · 25/04/2019 21:41

3-4 times a week.

firstimemamma · 07/05/2019 10:40

Once a week or if the baby is going through a rough patch then less!

Hoping to invest in a dyson stick one day though as I think this will get me doing it daily.

Whiskyagogo · 07/05/2019 16:38

Hi traffic areas get done every day - kitchen, living room and stairs leading up to living room (townhouse).

Bedrooms and stairs leading up to bedrooms get done once a week.

Aquamarine1029 · 07/05/2019 16:41

Whole house daily thanks to bloody cats.

Apricotjamsndwich · 07/05/2019 19:27

Roomba upstairs and downstairs once a day. Whole house once a week. I'm very keen on roomba's that's why I got 2.
