Remove stains from plastic?

I put the plastic part of our electric bottle steriliser in the dishwasher. It is now stained red from pasta sauce, and looks horrible. Does anyone know how to remove the stain? I soaked it in bleach, which helped a little.
Thank you!

This is why I never used the dishwasher to clean baby bottles! Milton may help but hopefully it will fade over time

@dementedpixie thanks. It was the actual bottles in the dishwasher though.

Hi I've not tried this but a friend swears by it to get stains out of Tupperware etc. Put a mix of washing up liquid, bleach and water into the container and put it in the microwave heat it to boiling point take it out when cooled and scrub with Fairy - good luck!

Yeah I saw it wasn't bottles you put in but any clear plastic ends up discolouring when washed in the dishwasher with tomato based foods

@dementedpixie I know. It was a silly mistake 😞 thanks for your suggestion

@mommybear1 sounds easy enough to try! Thanks
