Help! Red lipstick on shirt

Can anyone recommend how to get lipstick out of a cotton t shirt? Accidentally smudged a huge amount onto mine while taking it off two days ago but only noticed today. Does anyone have any tips, is it one for the dry cleaners or is it basically a lost cause? Any advice very gratefully received!

Try rubbing washing up liquid or soap into the stain before washing

Ariel powder for whites on a 60 cottons wash asap.

Washing up liquid rubbed on neat, then rinsed out. Repeat, then wash with biological detergent as a pre-wash cycle to whatever cycle & detergent you usually use.

Probably too late for your shirt, but do as suggested above but make sure you do two washes and the first is a cold wash. Doing a hot wash first can end up setting the make up. I'd also add bicarbonate of soda in the drum, lemon juice in the detergent drawer and white vinegar in the rinse drawer.
