Cast Iron pans and the dishwasher?

MummySharkBabyShark · 08/04/2019 15:29

This is my first time posting in house keeping but I am a regular loiterer.

I am guessing we shouldn't have put this pan (and another one) in the dishwasher. Does anyone have any clue how to wash this residue off? Also has the shine gone forever?

Thanks for your help.

Hmm - I put my glazed cast iron pans in ours, just not the unglazed frying pans. Are you in a hard water area? I'd try cleaning off whatever that residue is with bicarb on a nylon scourer or use something like Barkeepers Friend or even CIF.

Thank you WowFudge.

Yes definitely a hard water area and we had to turn up the salt (amount dispensed) on the dishwasher as it was getting limescale, this residue is worse since then.

Thanks for the product ideas, I will give it a go.
