Now my knives are going rusty in the dishwasher. One of them was brand new!

Ii don't do hand washing so what on earth do I do?

Hmm.....sounds like salt pitting. Do you use salt as well as tablets with salt in???

I have bought new ones, it has happened with them too!

I am currently using d/w powder but the salt light seems to flash on quite a lot to need filling up.

apparently I was told when we got some new cutlery that you should always rinse any food residue off knives before putting them in the dishwasher, as they will tend to oxidise whilst waiting for you to put the dishwasher on (If you don't put it on after every meal?)

I will try rinsing the knives, thanks. It is on at least twice a day.
