Cleaning upvc doors and window frames?

holidayarmadillo2019 · 02/04/2019 10:23

Sorry boring post alert!
I really need to do a deep clean as we have guests soon.
I usually just give the doors a wipe over with method spray but I've noticed some marks, especially outside that are not budging and also dirt has kind of settled into the lines on the doors if that makes sense

Any tips/products that will get them white and in better shape again?
Thank you

The Pink Stuff is good for marks or even a magic eraser - home bargains sell both

I use Astonish paste on a damp cloth , gets off those nasty black scuff marks and non abrasive .

A word of warning. Using anything other than soap and water may invalidate any guarantee you have on your windows and doors. If in doubt ring the company you bought them from and ask for recommendations.

Thank you for all the replies Smile

The doors were put in a few years before we moved in I think so we don't have a guarantee afaik.

I picked up some magic erasers and cif cream yesterday as I read a post on MSE that it's supposed to be good for this.

I have those black scuff marks and they're still there after astonish, bleach, pink stuff, cif, and every other cleaner in my kitchen cupboard 😡😡

I tried the stuff from Lakeland and it didn’t give my windows any justice. I then tried a degreaser called elbow grease it cut through the built up 20years worth of filth on the PVC now they sparkle like new windows. We were totally amazed how good this very cheap product worked.
