Big family dinner ideas

Hi, it's my daughter birthday coming up and we would like to invite my partners family over the following day for a tea party or dinner. In total we will be having 12 adults and 7 children over.
Has anyone got any suggestions for food ideas?
I was thinking of maybe putting lots of jacket potatoes in, but want some simple meals to go with Or maybe a picky tea?

Thanks
X

I’d want as much done ahead as possible with sufficient choices that there was something for everyone.
I’d probably do

  • a large gammon cooked in cider
  • a rice crusted vegetarian quicke of some sort
  • a salmon quiche
  • coronation chicken
  • possibly some sticky sausages, if children tended to fussy.

Then just a few salads along with the baked potatoes. Homemade coleslaw or Waldorf, beetroot and orange, tomato salad and a green salad. Maybe mushroom and peach coronation salad or a tabouleh.

Pudding I might just do ice creams or ice lollies or a huge pavlova.

As above I doing cooked meats, potatoes and salads. Along with cheese, crackers and french bread, I use Part Baked bread as they are easy to cook on the day.

Sweet wise I normally get a selection of Mr Kiplings cakes and Jam Tarts. Along with crisps and snacky bits. With a Large fresh fruit salad and cream.

Most can be things can prepared the day before so less stress on the day.
