Housekeepers (jobs) what do you do?

Okay, so I'm a nanny but all the children are in school now, been with them for 10 years. My job has changed and I'm struggling with the housekeeping part. It's a big house so obviously lots to do cleaning wise. I just need a routine of what I should/ could do every day. I do all the washing, ironing, cooking and cleaning, walking the dogs, and checking what's happening at the school (emails) .Tuesday the children are at school for more hours so I do one big clean, top to bottom. Dust and Hoover, general clean. But what should I concentrate on the other days?

Is there someone who does this for a living, who could give me a run down of their routine? It's a big house, 7 bedrooms, 4 main living areas, indoor swimming pool etc.

Thanks

What about trying the organised mum method (on steroids for the size of house! )

I have a housekeeper but I’m at a loss to explain our routine. My house is of a similar size.

I have jobs that our done quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily but it’s evolved over a couple of years based on seeing how things go and changing the original schedule once I realized some things were more important than others so to speak.

I have a pool but that’s not the housekeepers job, it’s for the maintenance company to do twice a week and on other days the person who does the outside work sweeps around it and keeps an eye on it.

I doubt anyone could really give you a schedule to work to.

Sounds like you're already doing loads. Kids, house, laundry, ironing, cooking, dogs!!! In a house that size, cleaning is like painting the forth bridge anyway. Keep coming onto this housekeeping section and get inspired by the discussions. For instance, there's a new thread on cleaning under the loo seat - this is a prompt to go check all the loo seats and make sure they're spotless. Also, do you fold knickers and undies and carrier bags into little triangles?!!! It's a small touch but it looks impressive!

I realise this isn't a helpful comment but I'm struggling to understand why a qualified nanny would want to do a housekeeper role Confused

I'm doing this job because it's more than a job...I've been with his family for 10 years, I'm a live in nanny. Luckily we get extra long holiday time as they go to private school. However I know I can't do this forever as I'm realising how much i miss the every day of looking after children, especially babies/ toddlers.
Thanks for the tips, I think I just need to be more organised and try not to be bored by it.
