New mattress or mattress topper?

The mattress in our spare room is mega cheap and pretty lumpy. Poor DH is in there atm as I'm sleeping awfully and I'm wondering whether a mattress topper will make all the difference or whether we'll just be throwing money away and have to get a new mattress anyway.

Any experiences?

I'm wondering the same - only I think latex would be good for a topper but it's ££££

We’ve just got a new mattress and a mattress topper. Both from Ikea, the best thing we’ve done in years. The topper is wool and latex to avoid over heating.

Depends on your finances. If you can’t afford a comfortable mattress than look for a deeply filled topper.

Hmm, I'm about to start maternity leave so finances are definitely a consideration at the moment. Maybe a topper will do the trick!
