Anyone having Doing Things Saturday?

Feel like a checking in thread? I’ve got a wash on although I’m certain I’ve missed some things out which is irritating but not the end of the world.
Hoping t do some decluttering, clean bathroom, knock out the old plaster round the door & redo a first layer and then fill some holes.
Just waiting for everyone to go out.

I need to clean all my kitchen cupboards and fridge but the thought is filling me with dread 😩

Rearranging clothes in drawers so I can find things
Mowing lawn
Usual washing and cleaning

I have a stinking cold so definitely need motivation!

Get all the tools out and ready eg put cleaning stuff in bathroom, so that when they have gone you can start straight away, that way there is less liklihood of being sidetracked to longer on mumsnet

Also ironing!
@IveGotAlpen start with the fridge. By far the easiest bit & a much more visible & satisfactory result I think. I also need to do those things, but another day.
Right. They’ve left. Cleaner going down the loo & then ironing & putting away laundry, which wasn’t on my list, but also very much needs doing.

Am going to put some Kondo or the terrifying warehouse woman for some motivation.

We are. I have told my two boys and husband we are having a cleaning weekend and they need to step up. I had great success a before Christmas apply the MKs idea to my clothes so today we are doing kids room (which we also did before Christmas so more of a tidy today than a de-clutter ), kitchen and frount room proper clean and a bathroom declutter.

Everyone is being a bit resistant but it is happening people!

We need a day of this. Dh has to help out at work for an hour or so this morning then we need to take the 3 girls shopping for shoes to wear to a christening tomorrow, do the food shop, tidy and clean downstairs and do shitloads of washing. What a shame dh has to do it all as I’m recovering from an op - I’ll keep the thread updated as to how he gets on 😆

I’ve had one ep new queer eye, and nearly finished the ironing.
Washing machine still going.

I'm upcycling a blanket box and did the first coat of paint earlier this morning. Also planning to Hoover, clean the bathroom, bake some brownies and have a general tidy up of my flat. I'm having a big rug delivered on Monday and friends coming round next Saturday night and since I'll be working on Saturday afternoon I won't have time to do everything then. But I'm off until Tuesday so I'll get everything done this weekend then try to keep the place tidy!

Ugh, look at the time. Next stop. Bathroom cleaned and laundry away. Have just spent ten minutes in the black hole that is mumsnet.

Well so far dh has done the food shop - it has taken him 2.5 hours! What on Earth was he doing?! I have put a load of washing on as otherwise it wouldn’t get done but he’ll have to sort it once the washer finishes as I can’t lift the basket. I’ve also just remembered he needs to pick up a present for the christening we’re going to tomorrow, the shop have just messaged to say it’s ready. He’s having a rest now...I’m quite enjoying watching him run round doing all the jobs I would usually do.

Don’t know where the time’s going. Have decided the hole may be too big for me & we might need to get a man in. Arg. Apparently they will be back soon! Where has the time gone!?!

Going to put another wash on.

Dh is out buying the girls shoes. I’ve put another wash on because apparently the clothes would otherwise have to wash themselves...

Mowing! There’s snow here! Am having five minutes before everyone gets back.
Most things are slightly better than before although rearranged rather than decluttered.
I have done a veritable mountain of washing, changed beds & changed my mind about the hole in the wall - I’m going to do it. But not right now.

Got three loads of washing sorted, hoovered and did the bathrooms. OH did the kitchen and changed the bedlinen. Now sat reading to the small. :)

Was going to until ended up in A and E with DD!

Just to update on yesterday - I ended up doing the washing and tidying/hoovering downstairs which I shouldn’t really be doing plus made tea. Dh took the girls for shoes and ended up having to go back to the shop later as he’s useless and forgot to collect his cashback. Not much else got done...
