Washing machine recommendations

It's looking like my washing machine has finally died (19 years old so I don't feel too bad). So I'm looking for a replacement that

  1. Has a 30 minutes wash
  2. Has a 1200rpm+ spin
  3. Can take a large load
  4. Ideally takes a hot water feed (we have solar water so don't want to use electricity to heat water if we have hot water in the tank)

Suggestions?

I have a Bosch and really like it.

Have you looked at the Which reports?

didireallysaythat · 09/03/2019 19:38

@endofthelinefinally - I don't subscribe to which? or are their reports free now?

I think you can get a free trial to Which.
My Bosch has a hot feed and I have a combi boiler so it is great. It is about 6 years old, so worth looking up their newer models. I use the express wash a lot.

@endofthelinefinally - brilliant - thank you! I've been googling (while cursing the current machine that won't let me get the socks out) and I was getting quite confused about inlet. I'll check out which and Bosch.

Boring fact but did you know you can get Wi-fi washing machines now? Smile

didireallysaythat · 10/03/2019 08:42

@tobee I'm ok with boring - after all I want one with a hot feed which I think most people don't worry about (as the manufacturer don't have it as their first bullet point)

You can't really go wrong with Bosch. Buy it from John Lewis and you get 2 years free guarantee. I've had the cheapest Bosch before and now I have a much more expensive one (and several in between in various accommodation) and have liked them all.

I had a Bosch but it didn't have a HalfLoad or QuickWash (it judged the amount of water)

It was a huge great beast of a machine , either 8-9kg , I had it nearly 10 years .

The new Bosch seemed flimsy , I wasn't struck on them.
Got a Miele , smaller load (didn't need 8kg) but it has a 20 minute wash, takes 7kg load .
