I had a shark that lasted a year, it was absolutely rubbish and stank.

Iv just bought the Hetty hoover and my god I love it. Iv just done all downstairs and it looks so clean 😂😩

She’s my new favourite child.

I have a Henry and it's the best hover ever I absolutely love him..
Put a car air freshener in the white filter bit and then put back together and it'll smell amazing 😁 (I put in a bubblegum one)

justthecat · 08/03/2019 16:16

I’ve got a hetty too !

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 08/03/2019 16:38

I’ve got a Hetty and is a sturdy wee beast. Great buy.

ScreamingValenta · 08/03/2019 16:43

I love my Henry - had him for about six years now! I've got a George as well but disappointingly one of the tubes on the hose split - still usable but PITA.

PinkBuffalo · 08/03/2019 16:45

I have a Henry and he is the best. I bought a vax a couple of years ago, but it didn't last as long as I had hoped. I had kept Henry for emergencies and he's still going strong, must be more than 10 years now! He's sturdy & can stand being flung about as I am very clumsy.
Best Hoover EVER!

MayFayner · 08/03/2019 16:49

I can’t have a Henry as it reminds me of being a chambermaid in my student days.

Great hoover though. Is Hetty plastic?

Lottieskeeper · 08/03/2019 16:58

I love my Henry. I bought him in 2004.
My mum has one that she's had for nearly 30 years.
The best thing about them is you can use them with or without bags. Depending on what suits you.
We've never used a bag in either of ours.
A good bang of the big white filter against a wall when you empty. Then the occasional wash in the washing machine and they suck like new.
There so tough too, somersaults down the stairs onto a concrete floor don't even stop him.

TheFunkyFox · 08/03/2019 17:56

It’s the compact one!! It’s amazing, my carpets look amazing 😂

Did you ever think twenty years ago you’d be getting excited on a Friday night... about a hoover 😂

Babygrey7 · 08/03/2019 18:10

My Henry blew up yesterday.

I plugged it in and it went BOFFFF and grey smoke came out, and the whoke house smelt of burnt plastic

I carried it outside, whilst it was still smoking away. Now it sits in the rain on the drive... it will go to the dump tomorrow

Bastard Henry, no more Henry's here! Angry

Sad
Orangehandtowel · 08/03/2019 18:13

I have a Hetty I've had it 5 years and its still great. Especially with the way I fling it about as I'm rushing around to hoover. the amount of times she's fallen down the stairs.. The only person i could compare her too is Rasputin with the amount of falls and drops that would've killed any other hoover!
They are well built!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 08/03/2019 18:14

I want the whole Numatic family. All of them.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 08/03/2019 18:15

I used to have a green Henry hound and loved it. I have no idea why I decided to buy a Miele but I did and I so regretted it. I gave my Henry to my friend. I git so fed up with Miele a few months ago I bought a cordless Henry and I love him. He’s so nifty and I expected not great power but he’s great. I’m a cleaner and take him to work so he gets used on all sorts of floors. And I’ve used all sorts of hoovers. Would choose Henry every time.

Bigonesmallone3 · 08/03/2019 18:16

I have a hetty and she is amazing.. I did cheat on her and get a dyson cordless too but she knows il always come back to her when I need things done properly..

MachinicianMagician · 08/03/2019 18:18

Just out of interest, why do you love Hetty so much?

I had several Henry's (they came with the flats I rented) and never got along with them - he was constantly getting stuck around corners/sofas/never followed me properly and I felt he wasn't powerful enough. Were my Henry hoovers just geriatric and due for retirement? Genuinely hated them...

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 08/03/2019 18:21

For me he’s been reliable and constant.

GTech Air Ram - 3 years good service, just died one day.

Bosch Athlet - shit. Battery life abysmal, hard to get extendable tube out. Eventually went kaput at 2 years.

Didn’t get on with my neighbors second hand dyson: cumbersome and unwieldy.

Henry is my first bagged hoover in years and it’s not too heavy to trundle around (roughly) and has easy to connect parts.

I love Henry x

Prequelle · 08/03/2019 18:22

I have the Novak version and I'm just not strong enough to use it!

Thebookswereherfriends · 08/03/2019 18:22

Henry’s and his siblings are fab and also spare parts are readily available, so new filters, tubes etc. Ours has lasted about 20 years so far even after it had to clean up a load of lathe and plaster from a collapsed ceiling!

TheFunkyFox · 08/03/2019 18:54

Its the suction power! And the long cable. I don’t mind her following me around as I clean, it’s like a little helper 😂

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 08/03/2019 19:04

Also; my baby son likes to look into Henry’s eyes.

TeaAddict235 · 08/03/2019 19:24

I find Henry really clumsy; he's always tumbling forwards and doesn't manoeuvre round corners the way that I would expect. What is the difference with a Hetty?

TheFunkyFox · 08/03/2019 19:26

My Hetty is only tiny?

OP posts:
justthecat · 08/03/2019 19:33

The extra long cord is fab, and it’s a good priced Hoover

MayFayner · 08/03/2019 19:55

There’s a cordless Henry?!!

I might have to reconsider my Henry ban.

OliviaBenson · 08/03/2019 20:01

You can use them bagless?!!! Shock
