The window cleaner does outsied but inside are bogging.

The sprays just go all streaky.
I have heard newspapaer/ lemon juice etc, but how much and in which order?
Step by step guide would be appreciated.
The world looks hazy from inside my home....

I dip my newspaper in diluted vinegar and wipe. Then I dry off the window with more dry newspaper.

I am not entirely certain if the vinegar should be diluted or not, but it seems to work well...better than any other method, at least.

I must admit though that I didn't take visitors into my lounge last night as the sun was shining in and I was REALLY embarrassed about the state of the windows . Perhaps thats a job for today.

Happy cleaning

I know I didn't notice until the sun was shining yesterday.

Do you use malt vinegar or white??!!!

I use malt...how dd it go?

hermykne · 09/07/2007 13:49

get one of the window rubber wipe things ,use vinegar (any viegar) and water solution, slap it on with a cloth, quick rub over andd use the swiper to remove. maybe a quick buff
cant be easier and u dont need to use the newsprint , as the newsprint goes al over your hands.

Madwelshwoman · 09/07/2007 13:52

Wash windows with warm soapy water, mix 10 parts water to 1 part vinegar solution put it on with cloth then wipe off firmly with newspaper. Voila, window cleaning a la Aggie and Kim

Might need to try taking my own advice though, mine are disgusting

DoubleBluff · 13/07/2007 21:45

HAd a go at them today.
Good job i wore gloves as they were black from the print.
Look good.
Test will be when the sun comes out......
Could be a long wait.

Wilkos do a vinegar spray which does the job great if you use newspaper too!

funnypeevesculiar · 13/07/2007 22:38

Did mine this morning - and all day have stuck in my head

"Maybe she's born with it
Maybe it's Windolene '

Quattrocento · 13/07/2007 22:41

Spray stuff - you know - basically stuff that smells a bit lemony - works a treat - but you shouldn't clean windows when the sun is shining - leads to smears - not that that's a problem nowadays ...

jessem · 14/07/2007 23:28

windolene works wonders. All of the family use it (gran, nana, mam and ME)
slightly weird as I quite like the smell

kidsrus · 14/07/2007 23:31

ask your window cleaner they are just as happy to do inside too!

DoubleBluff · 15/07/2007 10:51

Concerned it may come across as an 'invitation'!
