Is mop water always dirty or is it my house?

No matter how many times I change the water and mop again, the water I throw out is always very grimy and murky. Is this normal or is my house just really ingrained with dirt?! Any tips?

It might be the mop head?

Oh my word, I never thought of that!!

I was going to ask how often do you wash the head and bucket? One way (although laborious) is to wash the floor and then wash out the bucket and put on a new/clean mop head and remop and see what the water is like? I now use a Flash 121 spray mop for my upstairs bathrooms if I mop daily and change the pad the pad is pretty clean more than a few days and it's a bit grimy. I also have a Karcher FC5 and sometime huff that upstairs if I've mopped daily and changed the pad the water is clear. Not sure that helps Confused

That's really helpful. I wash the bucket out but never thought of the mop itself being dirty! What an idiot!
