I replace mine every couple of years. They are never the same after washing.

LaLaLamp · 02/03/2019 21:44

No, and drying them is a right pain!

I wash mine - tumble dry - shake - tumble dry again. ( I use those wool ball things in dryer ) Good as new. Bought some super posh used ones on ebay same process but washed with Dettol liquid and some hospital grade sanitising powder I had kicking about then slipped in dust mite proof cases. No fabric conditioner - or cleaners with them included automatically. I think it makes them clump more ime.

Have two protectors on each and wash those monthly.
Wash the whole pillow annually and tumble dry. Pillow day is epic -we've 12 to do. They come out really well.

You have to get them completely dry. Far more "dry" than you think they need to be. And loads of shaking so that the feathers don't clump.

But I do replace ours fairly regularly anyway since they do flatten. I'm very fussy about my pillows.

I don't have a drier, and always used protectors so may be in the clear!
