Washing clothes

Hi I am a young person with austim and i want to become more independent. My questions is can you wash jeans on a synthetic was on cold or 30° or would it wear it quicker? The reason i ask my new jeans say to was at 30° but the lowest my washing machine goes is 40° on the cotton settings.

Can you wash blue light jeans with white clothing? I dont have a lot of clothes as i live on my own and dont have a lot of money. Plus i find it easier for my austim as i get overwhelmed if that makes sense.

One more thing is it enough to just use fairy non bio and thats it for jeans? I have bad skin and that works.

Kind regards

Fairy non bio is fine - separate wash into whites/ lights/ darks - so 3 washes 30.0 is ok for all - I'd do bedding on at least 40 though

Your clothes probably won't be that dirty. I wouldn't worry about doing a specific cotton wash. I generally split mine and do them on express wash half load but you could probably put everything in together with a colour catcher sheet just in case. I sometimes mix my loads when I've only a little to do and never had an issue even without a colour catcher. Do your bedding and towels on a hotter wash.

We use surface non bio as my husband has allergies and it's fine for everything so your fairy will be too.

Surcare that should say

Is it safe to wash denim on synthetic 30° as that the lowest i can go. Also is it safe to wash one jeans on its own or can that damge the machine and the clothing? Hope i make sense

Big tip op - always turn them inside out before washing. If you don’t you can get white or lighter rubbed lines on them very quickly.
I wash mine 30 with darks (not white things) and you can use bio/non bio/sensitive. If you want you can get a washing powder/liquid that is called colour care or similar name - for darks and coloureds. Has less bleaching agent in. Good luck !

"Is it safe to wash denim on synthetic 30°"

Yes.

"Also is it safe to wash one jeans on its own or can that damge the machine and the clothing"

Yes, perfectly safe. If your machine has a "half load" option, or a "quick wash" option, you can use that.

Lostone, your machine may well have a daily wash or some such programme. I wash everything on this setting as I can alter the temperature to suit and can also change the number of rinses and the speed of the spin.
Don’t worry so much about the setting, go for the temperature you want.
Separate washkoads into whatever suits your lifestyle and wardrobe- I do 4 types, Lights, darks, whites and towels. If the towels are a bit damp smelling, I will give them a 60° wash. No fabric conditioner in whites or towels.
Hope this waffling helps 😀

Btw, I use the synthetic cycle for everything except towels & bedding.

I find the cotton cycle leaves things creased. But that might just be my machine.

My machine is very basic, it looks like this: ibb.co/pvKvsVz

I mostly use the half hour daily wash. Split into 3 for darks, whites and middling stuff. Mostly at 30. Turn it up to 40 if I think it needs it.

Exception is towels and bedding at 60. Occasionally do them at 90.

All clothing inside out.

If you use a tumble dryer try and get the wash out when it hits the cool air and before it stops. Shake and carefully fold or put on a hanger. This will often save on ironing.

My machine is also very basic and is perfectly adequate.
