Washing machine woes

My 10yr old washing machine has just stopped mid cycle. No major issues prior to this.

I hoped it was the fuse so changed it but noticed the plastic cover over the fuse had sort of melted into position & it had to be broken / chiselled off. No signs of actual plug melting & no burning smell. Tried new fuse but still no power.

Any thoughts? Is it a write off or any ideas I can try? Would it be safe to use without a plastic cover over the fuse anyway?

Pic of plug with fuse removed is attached.

I'd buy a new machine, honestly.

Electricity, water and plastic are not a good combination when something goes wrong.
