Hole in shoe

I have a pair of boots which I really really love, but unfortunately I managed to wear a hole in the top of them (scraping my foot along the ground on a zip wire).

Is there anything I can use to cover the hole, do you think? I quite like customising clothes so would be happy to use a quirky patch. I can't quite stomach throwing away a £150 pair of boots because of this flaw.

I was thinking of maybe trying a clothing patch, but those tend to be either iron or sew-on, and that obviously wouldn't work on leather. Any ideas, housekeeping gurus?

You need some type of leather patch, not sure where you would find this, an independent cobblers would be your best bet

Cobbler. If they can't, I'd try shoe repair shop.
If you are crafty, you could try glueing or sewing a leather patch.
