Smell in the fridge

So me and my partner have just moved into a rented property and it came with a large fridge freezer. There isn't a problem with it and it looked perfectly clean except the horrible smell coming from the fridge. Has anyone got any tips on how to remove the smell. We have deep cleaned it multiple times and it hasn't made a difference.

Get a lemon, quarter it and leave on different shelves of the fridge. It absorbs smells.

Is it the drainage hole at the back? They can get really manly!

*manky

Is it a free standing fridge freezer? Turn it round and look near the bottom. Ours had a plastic drip container that filled up and went manky. Check the drainage hole at the back of the fridge too as it may be mouldy

Agree with PPs. You can also put a bowl of bicarb in the fridge to absorb bad smells.
