General Cleaning Rule

Hi All,

First post. Please forgive any mistakes or infelicities of style.

Would you agree it is best to clean (whatever needs cleaning) on a regular basis whether it appears to need cleaning or not?

I tend to wait for things to get obviously unclean but I am now thinking that is much to late.

Regards,

Adam

Some things eg, the hob, work surfaces, washing up definitely clean regularly whether they seem to need it or not, they acquire small mess, which doesn’t look like much until suddenly it’s very disgusting and it’s definitely harder to clean.

Similarly sheets. Wash your bedclothes about once a week. Any stains will then not be set, generally they will keep nicer for longer. In addition if you’re like me, if you aim for weekly, it might happen fortnightly.

Things like skirting boards on the other hand can mostly get to fuck. Until they’ve an obvious mark and then I’d give them a wipe. I do run the vac along them when I do the floor.

Yes I agree.

I used to be a clean as needed kind of person until I actually got a job as a cleaner. Then I realised that it's so much quicker to keep on top of rather than scrubbing noticeable grime!

I can clean a building quicker than I could do my house now Blush

There’s loads of good threads on here & blogs & apps if you’re looking for inspiration. i like Unfuck your habitat, it’s quite realistic about not always being able to do all the things.
Good luck with a nice clean house!
