Dishwasher/Waste Disposal

Is it only my children (adult children btw) who believe our dishwasher has a waste disposal unit built-in? 😕

If it has happened to your dishwasher you will know what I mean!

They all mock me when I rinse dishes in the sink before putting them into the dishwasher! 🤨

Mine seems to have one I put way more crud in than I ever have to fish out.
Someone needs to invent one of it doesn't already exist!

Mine are afraid of my dishwasher- I think they think something lives inside it and all refuse to even open it and put everything on top of it. 😡

You don't need to rinse them but I do scrape food off the plates into the food bin.

I’m a rinser too but fortunately so is DH. It’s easier than getting the crap out the filter and spray arms! The two occasions when the DW stopped working properly were caused by one grain of rice and a tiny grape stalk that got stuck in the spray arms.

I scrape plates well but don’t rinse.

My ILs practically wash things up before they go in the dishwasher, to the point that it’s basically pointless.

The detergent needs something to work on so it's best not to rinse beforehand. Do scrape though

Yep - rinsing is old hat. No need and a waste of water.
