How to get marks from sticky pads off a door?

My sons room has had name plaques attatched by squishy sticky pads and now we’ve removed them the marks left behind are terrible. Is there a good way to remove them as I don’t want to cause more damage?

Wd40 or blutak

Another vote for WD40 or some other oil.

Be careful about scrubbing.

Try CIF cream cleaner, it is slightly abrasive so might do the job.

Lakeland sticky stuff remover.

It’s the dogs bullocks for this sort of job

Olive oil.

Magic Eraser. It got adhesive marks off a upvc front door when nothing else touched them
