Recommendations for steam Iron (the excitement!)

Mines just packed in.

Don't want one that's on a base (too big) and I'd prefer to be able to get it in a shop (I'm in Ireland, do have most of the same shops as in uk - no John Lewis though)

I'd like it under €100 (so 90 odd pound) most certainly!!

Mostly used by husband and son for their shirts, so crease removal main aim. Not entirely sure what else a iron can do but this seemed to be a category in some reviews (as if like some irons aren't good at it).

DS has just joined the navy and had to buy a steam iron for his uniform. He bought this
Philips GC4526/87 Azur Performer Plus Steam Iron with 210 g Steam Boost, 2600 W - Black
Currently £40 (half price) at Amazon

I used it a couple of times before he left to help check it worked OK and think it's very good compared to my current Philips model. The 'nose' is quite pointed so useful for getting a sharp crease on shirts. I am visiting DS this weekend so will see how well it's working after a month of heavy (according to him) use Smile

Thanks. I'm assuming the navy doesn't like creases so that's a positive!!

Ideally I preferred to be able to get the iron in a shop rather than online. It's €99 here .
