Plastic lettering on hoodie picked up red colour of hoodie after wash - Help!

My daughter's sports hoodie has her name on the back but after the first wash the red colour of the hoodie has run and all the letters are now pink rather than white. Have tried washing again, with no success. Do those sheets you put in with a wash to stop colour running actually get colour out after it has run? Is there anything else I can do? I've tried a paste of Vanish on it with no success and I can't scrub too hard as I think the plastic will start to flake off!

Any suggestions gratefully received! Thanks

Dr Beckmann - available in most supermarkets and Poundstretcher and B&M type shops.

Also, I have used a mixture of Fairy washing up liquid and white vinegar to remove navy dye. Add to a bowl of warm water and soak for a couple of hours. Wash as normal at 30/40 degrees.

Vanish stain remover bar then soak in bio washing powder. Then wash with colour catcher sheets (or an old towel or towel can work). In future wash with colour catchers.
