I haven't been in the best of mental health lately, and the house has descended into chaos!
I am going to try for an hour in the kitchen
Dishes
Washing
Counters
Light Fire
Sort clean clothes
Put clean clothes away
Sweep Floor
Wash Floor

This was me yesterday morning OP. I felt much better for it once it was done Smile

Kim82 · 03/02/2019 08:48

Can I join please? My house is an absolute tip at the minute! I’m going to try for at least the upstairs being blitzed - I’ve not touched it for a good 2 weeks! I need to:

Tidy all 3 bedrooms
Dust and clean windows
Strip and remake beds
Hoover bedrooms and landing
Clean and mop bathroom

I also need to try to get as much washing done as possible and fold and put away the clean stuff (there’s already one load in the washer and I have 2 clean loads that need putting away...). One more brew then I’ll get started. Good luck cikecaka. I’ll check back in with you later, see how we both get on.

Vintagegoth · 03/02/2019 08:52

Same here. Struck down with a heavy cold and feeling low, so just done the bare minimum for 3 weeks. A quick blitz will make a big difference. Off to tackle the dishwasher. Good luck!

Pandasarecute · 03/02/2019 08:53

Me too today!! Going to finish my coffee, get off here and tackle the ironing mountain! I have washing machine and dishwasher on already

cikecaka · 03/02/2019 09:47

Well, I've done an hour, I broke it down into 15min segments, so I wasn't too overwhelmed! Going to have breakfast and then start again at 10.15

Just checking in after an hour. Good idea breaking it down, it definitely will make everything feel less of a huge task. I’m having a quick tea break, so far I’ve managed to tidy the bedrooms, dust them and clean the windows. Dh is currently folding the clean washing and I’ve put another load in the machine and one in the dryer. I’ve yet to do the hoovering and the bathroom...those will be my next tasks and I’m leaving changing the beds til tomorrow - I’ve got too much washing to fo today to add to it so once I’m on top of it I’ll sort the beds.

BlueCornishPixie · 03/02/2019 10:06

I did this yesterday.

My flat was an absolute shit heap. I hadn't dusted since before Christmas Blush

Now it's all clean and I got up this morning feeling really happy! The only problem is my housemates stuff is just everywhere, the more space I create the more is filled. It's a losing battle really but at least it's now clean just messy.

Good luck! Just think how great it will be getting up to a clean house tomorrow!

Kim82 · 03/02/2019 10:50

Okay. Upstairs is now done and smells amazing! Just a shame downstairs is an absolute shit tip...I’ll make a start on it in a bit. I’m boiling so I’m having a break first.

Xiaoxiong · 03/02/2019 11:02

My house also seems to be a tip at the moment, I'm blaming the cold weather and the kids having a snow day on Friday so we're all indoors much more than usual.

Today's list:
Sort out uniform and sports kit for tomorrow
Fold and put away clean laundry mountain
Clean kitchen and entryway floor which is covered in bits of mud from wellies
Wipe down toilets
Wash dishes
Force kids to tidy their playroom
Convince DH we should eat out or get a takeaway so the kitchen stays tidy!

missmouse101 · 03/02/2019 11:03

I'm doing this too! Just having a break before tackling the bathroom! I also get boiling doing housework so I usually do it in my PJs then finish with the bathroom, clean the shower and then have a shower. So
I finish up all fresh and clean when house is too! Bliss! (Then wait for everyone to start messing it up again Sad)

Xiaoxiong · 03/02/2019 11:03

so much for no housework on the weekend, haha! It's just Level 1 though...

cikecaka · 03/02/2019 11:19

2nd hour done
Sink area is clear and cleaned
Did Cooker hob
Cleaned counters
3rd wash in
2 wash hung up
Load in tumble dryer
Fire lit
Emptied bin
Small rest and then to tackle the dining area of doom, with all the clothes

I’ve had a nice hours break and had an early lunch. Dh and dd2 have done a decent job of clearing up downstairs while I’ve been having a rest. All there is to is:

Dust our bedroom and the living room
Clean internal windows downstairs
Hoover and mop all the ground floor
Clean out cats litter tray
More washing
Iron uniforms.

It will have to wait a while now though as I’m going to jump in the shower and get dressed then go ou for an hour or two. I’ll carry on when I get home.

Xiaoxiong · 03/02/2019 14:14

Wow OP you are on a roll!! Feels good right? Grin

I've been finishing off the kitchen listening to the Dr Death podcast on Spotify (which I can highly recommend!) Now for washing and then on to making dinner, since the takeaway idea was rejected by all, so it will be roast chicken, potato and celeriac bake, and steamed broccoli - but I bought a sneaky apple and strawberry pie for dessert, yum!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 03/02/2019 17:21

Wow, you really are on a roll! Smile

cikecaka · 09/02/2019 13:18
