Finding a housekeeper in NW London

Hi, hope this is the right place to post - please let me know if another topic is more appropriate. Despite the amazing tips on this board, I am looking to outsource my housekeeping

Does anyone have an advice on how best to find a housekeeper (i.e. someone who can put shopping away, pick up the dry cleaning, do the laundry - rather than just a cleaner) please? We're in NW London. Any specific sites/ should we use an agency?

Shameless bump as Gumtree hasn't yielded much and agencies seem quite exploitative... Frustrating really, as this would be an ideal role for a local lady with eg primary aged children, who just wants a bit of money on the side (only need someone for about 8hs a week). I just have no idea how to find this mythical helper!!

Try childcare.co.uk. I think you can search for a housekeeper or place an advert for the position.

Are you registered on nextdoor? I was looking for exactly the same thing and found a couple of candidates there, with kids at the same school as mine.

No, I’ve not been on nextdoor... I don’t know it actually, will take a look. Thanks for the suggestion!

I found some promising-looking babysitters on Childcare.co.uk but no one suitable for the housekeeper role. I trawled MN history and found an agency who look incredible but they provide “staff for estates” and similar... so I’ve contacted them but I’m not holding out much hope, it’s a bit above the level we want, I think!!
