It's quite plastic and gone grubby. Can/Should I put it in my dishwasher?

Yes, I do with mine and the plastic dish drainer from the draining board.

Yes! I put my terracotta storage jars in, my dust pan, toothbrushes, all sorts.

Of course

It might go orange (why do plastic tubs go orange in the DW?)

Put it in the sink full of bleach+water . (Cleans the sink too - bonus Grin )

I put our bin lid in the DW , the glass containers from the bathroom (Ikea chunky glass vases that I put toiletry things in) toothbrushes .

WHY are people putting toothbrushes in the dishwasher????

Also why do you need a washing up bowl? Never understood this!

You use less water with a washing up bowl and protect both the sink and the things you wash up if you use a w u b - especially if you have a ceramic sink.

Yes, put in dishwasher. To PP, it's usually tomato sauce in the dishwasher too (ie saucepan that cooked Spaghetti Bolognese/ ketchup on a plate) that turns plastics orange.
