Had to return my Dirt Devil today and was given a refund.

Now looking for another cordless one. Any recommendations other than the Dyson?

if you're on a budget and they are still in store I got a cordless from Lidl that was just £50! It doesn't have quite the extreme suction power of my old cordless Dyson but it's fairdos actually, and great value for money (also it's guaranteed for 3 years so if it goes wrong - it's going straight back). If you're on a real budget I recommend it.

I bought it about a week ago!

Whatever you do, avoid the Pifco one from next. It's utter shite. I can inhale better than it picks up, and I'm asthmatic. I just bought a little vax upright in the sale (£ 35) for everyday hoovering and I love it. Its amazing for the price, and works equally well on rugs/carpet and hard floors. Battery life isn't great but as I hoover everyday (sometimes twice a day) I never need it for long periods. I still have my big corded Dyson for a once a week big hoover.

I also have a serious hoovering problem, it's well controlled I assure you. No judging please Grin

Thank you!

I've got a Henry but want something for the stairs and a quick tidy around.

Going to have a look at the recommended ones :-)

GTech Multi Mark 2 cordless handheld vacuum - has a motorised head and is great for stairs

Myusernameismud · 30/01/2019 21:28

Also the shark cordless comes highly recommended by a few of my friends, and apparently voted best vaccum by mumsnet!

jcq17 · 30/01/2019 21:31

Iv got a dyson v8 and it's amazing

I just use my henry everywhere, though hardly have any carpets now so use a swisher brush on the stairs with washable pads
