Hello Everyone we are planing to move to Nottingham but i don't know which area is best to stay for a mix family of African decent , is there any nice quiet town or city not far from Nottingham or any ideal area in Nottingham any suggestion will be welcome.

Thanks Febas

Do you mean 5-10 miles? Because if you mean 5-10 minutes you’d still be in Nottingham

Do you have school aged children

There is a postive move by the Council in Nottingham to discourage driving into the City Centre. I think parking, including workplace parking is difficult. They have built a tramline over recent years and bus service is quite good. Also cycling is positivly encouraged.
Can't help with areas to live as my knowledge is based on work visits and commens of colleagues.

Depends on your income OP. But I like Sherwood and Mapperley. West Bridgeford and Burton Joyce, Radcliffe apon Trent are more expensive but great places to live. The first three suggestions aren't 'quiet' as such but are well connected to the city, whilst not being in the city. All are pretty inclusive, I think, especially Sherwood which has a lovely arty vibe. If you are after more of a village, I have some more suggestions!

You aren't going to be 5-10 minutes away unless you live in the very centre of town. The village areas are all much further out. I'd try to get somewhere near a tram stop to make it easier.

Hi Febas, it depends on your budget, West Bridgford and Lady Bay are lovely but expensive £350k - £400 for 3 bedroom semi. They are quiet compared to a lot of nottingham. Arnold is cheaper but not got the community atmosphere, I moved here from the country so needed an area that wasnt too much in the city. Pm me if you want, I know the area well.
