Painting

Right, so we have just been let down by a Polish painter at the last minute. I have only ever painted a room once and it was a total disaster. We have decided to try and do it ourselves. Two small bedrooms and a chimney breast.
I have done lots of research. What is sugar sop and how do you use it? What utensils do I need?
Any tips???
How do I paint radiators?
Thank you.

Sugar soap to wash down all walls, skirtings, etc.... start at the top of the room and work down.
Are you painting woodwork too?
Sand the radiators, wipe with a damp cloth, allow to dry and paint.... put thin coats on to avoid running! X

There are loads of YouTube videos which will help.
A couple of years ago, DS asked for his bedroom to be painted with stripes. I thought how the hell am I supposed to paint stripes?!?! Over to YouTube ... watched the tutorial and off I went.

Sugar soap is a powder that is sold in shops like Wilko or B&Q type stores. You mix it with water and wash the walls starting at the skirting board level and work up to the ceiling. You can find instructions on line.
You can buy sugar soap spray but it works out expensive and it is better if the water is hot.
