How do I clean my sofa?!

We have a beige sofa, that leaves water marks at even the smallest drop of anything.. even a tiny bit of (baby) dribble.

It's driving me insane. We know we need to get some throws but I don't want to just cover up stains, id rather clean it first.

I know I have to clean the whole cushion because it water marks.. but how? What with? The covers don't come off.

We had it professionally cleaned and within a week it was back to this! It's only a year old

There are various upholstery cleaners on the market. Just try them out.

I was hoping for some recommendations on tried and tested stuff. I'm worried to make it any worse.

We have an insurance on it, but the ballache of getting them out to it, was so much hassle last time, it almost doesn't seem worth it.

Just get some throws. You have to make do with shit sofas for 10 years when you have babies/ young children. Our youngest is now 11 and we have just got new ones. No stains! Grin

This was doing the rounds on facebook a couple of months ago. Don't know if it'll help water stains but maybe worth a go on a small patch? www.google.com/amp/s/amp.nine.com.au/article/21a22b74-6b47-4665-9c78-d7af09cf74e8

We use Dr Beckmanns carpet and upholstery cleaner, it brings any stains off brilliantly but test a small area first......

Your long term issue is the fabric itself though..... perhaps the best answer would be to have it professionally cleaned then some sort of treatment applied, like Scotchguard or Guardsman. I'd imagine a professional cleaner would be able to do it.

Get them professionally cleaned again and then get spill and stain protection spray. Its a sort of waterproof protection on the covers..

Non removables a nightmare, our sofas been caked in blood, coffee, wine, sick, you name it.

Oh god sorry @CatnissEverdene totally blanked out the second half of your post Blush

SPR1107 · 25/01/2019 22:04

Thanks all. I will get them cleaned... again! And look in to some protection AND throws.

Second baby on the way.. it's only gonna get worse!
