Mice! Help!

I have a persistent problem with mice that keep coming back to my flat. I've had it mice proofed 3 times already by 2 different pest control guys. They've laid down traps and poison. Each time I get it proofed it stops for a while and then come back. They seem to be coming from one area in the kitchen where they chew around the wire wool and make new holes in the plasterboard. Is there any way I can mice proof it for good? Should I be using expandable foam as well as wire wool?

I'm at my wits end! So traumatised by seeing mice in my kitchen. I live alone and also it's a studio flat so no doors to protect me from! Any suggestions for makeshift doors that they won't be able to climb up or over?

Get a cat.

I really hate it when people say get a cat. Not everyone likes cat and some people are allergic Hmm some people also don’t want the responsibility of a pet. Anyway, OP I had the same issue and found you need to caulk over the steel wool or they’ll still get through. The mice were coming in via pipes in our bathroom. I saw it again yesterday and saw it go through a hole in the wool. I’m stuffing more steel wool down the hole and will fill it with caulk and cover the whole thing with cement. Hope that helps
