I have lots of brown marks on my iron, probably where I have ironed over a non-iron surface! I saw anthea recomend a paste to clean it but cant remember what she put in it, something with vinegar possibly??
Help!!

Have the iron warm (just switched off) and rub a bar of soap onto it, dry soap btw. Leave it a bit, then scrape off with the back of a knife. Someone told me this on here and it works

vinegar and salt my deary thats the anthea recipe anyway! Theory is that the combination of drying agent (salt) and acid (vinegar) will shift anything- BUT don't use it if you've got a ceramic soleplate- it'll kill it!
