which toaster/kettle do you have?
& what colour?

I can't decide whether to get gloss white or red?

Any would go with my kitchen.

I don't want to buy something that breaks within weeks.

Dualit toaster- have had it for 19 years and 6 house moves!!! It’s silver.

I buy random kettles when I need them. Should have invested in a dualit one!!!

When we renovate kitchen I’m getting a boiling water tap

Dualit toaster here too. Four slice model and it's over twenty years old. Went through countless others before investing.

Gone other way with kettles. Have had expensive kettles thinking they would last longer but current is Asda cheap model and over ten years old.

I've got a Dualit toaster, four slice, in lime green. I love it.

Kettle is some shiny chrome-type yoke, fairly 'modern' sort of cone shape but TBH I barely give it a glance. I hate plastic white kettles and would always go for metal ones from now on.

We moved house 18 months ago and I replaced an old magimix kettle and even older russell hobbs toaster with Dualit items. Architect range, both in stainless steel. Love 'em! Don't know how I managed all these years without a bagel function on my toaster ;)

I have a lovely Smeg set in white.

Pink Dualit toaster (I’ve had it several years and got it second hand, so quite old) and a pink BHS kettle. They kind of look like they match!

Twenty year old Dualit toaster in stainless steel, the sort that you set a time for with a knob rather than it popping up.

Cheapo black kettle from Argos, the expensive ones don't seem to last as long as the cheap ones.

I only ever have black, grey or steel/chrome, I don't like white or coloured small appliances.

Kettle is something from the in-laws attic. I don’t know if we have a toaster.

My toaster is a Dualit - they’re pricey but worth it I think, especially when reading the PPs who’ve had theirs for 20-odd years! I did have a Cookworks one before which packed up after two or three years. My kettle is a Breville. I’ve had it about eight years and it does the job!

Stainless steel classic dualit toaster (10+ years old), boiling water tap instead of a kettle, so no use there.

Dualit black and chrome toaster and some cheap amazon brushed chrome kettle that's supposedly energy efficient. Water is so hard here we destroy kettles often.

Dualit 17 years old, you can replace the elements if they go (haven’t needed to as yet).

Black Smeg kettle; black Russell&Hobbs toaster that does 4 slices/defrosts/toasts bagels and has removable trays for those annoying crumbs.

But I have found my replacement for when the toaster gives up!

Dualit for both. Got fed up of other stuff packing up. Only had them about 3 months though!!

Re. Your colour choice-I have deep red range cooker (more a cross between wine and red rather than fire engine red or bright red) and the same colour tiles but went for black coffee maker, kettle, toaster because it was easier than finding a matching red, and I rather black to white for those things, as sometimes heat can cause white things to discolour over time.
(Contrary to my posting name, I’ve just ordered the toaster after reading everyone else’s verdict on them! I guess I shall just have to donate my old one to work!😉)
