My washing machine is broke😭 its not very old only about 3 years. I need a new one but argos charge £40 to plumb in it (although that includes taking away the opd one but I could get someone to take it for free) is it worth me paying the extra or should I do it myself? how easy/hard is it to do? baring in mind im RUBBISH at diy.

It is really easy
Save yourself some pounds and you can do it yourself

I've done my last two and I am also rubbish at diy! Do you have a muscly friend to help you move it though?? They weigh a tonne!!

Great thanks! I will get someone to help me move it but weve both never done it before so I will give it a try if its easy. Save myself Ā£40 šŸ˜… going to have a look at the link thanks

I've done this a fair few times, it's really straightforward, you'll be able to do it no problem.

It's three things.
Power plug.
Waste pipe (corrugated grey plastic one) shoves on to the waste water under the sink.
Water pipe (prob blue with a plastic nut) connect that to the cold water tap under the sink.
You will know what to do when you pull out the old one.
Turn off the cold water supply to the washer first.

It really is easy, not worth spending the money.

Most of the £40 is for disposal. They are pretty heavy though and you need space to manoeuvre. Can you take the old one out and remove before delivery. Have a bucket ready to catch residual water in the pipes.

I could get someone to take it away for scrap for free, thats why i was reluctant as currys allows you to just pay for the installation which is cheaper, Argos is installation and removal. But the machine I want is a better deal on argos, just order so now a week without a machine 😩
