How do you get rid of smoke smells from inside a house?

I know airing it will be good and washing anything that can be washed but any other tips?

Do you mean cigarette smoke? If so, it can take some work. Clean all the carpets and curtains. Wash walls, ceilings, window frames, skirtings, etc using sugar soap. If it's really bad, the smell may be in the wall coverings or even the plaster so ateipping the paper and even re-plastered may be needed.
