Am renovating an old wooden playhouse in the garden. Have painted the outside in Cuprinol Rustic Brown Timbercare but want to do the window frames white or cream . However I don't want to use regular gloss which gives a solid finish but rather more a light coloured woodstain. I seem to recall that you can dilute certain paints with water and/or turps (as an alternative to paying £10 for a small tin of cream Cuprinol), can anyone recommed a suitable mix for exterior wood please ?
