Bubblegum in washing machine

Hi, this is my fault entirely. I had some bubblegum the other day. I thought I'd disposed of it all in the bin, but today I took clothes out the washing machine and saw, what looked like bubble gum. I've looked at the drum and can't see any more. Should I be worried that it might break the washing machine? Is there anything I should do? Any advice would be great, thank you.

Have you checked the filter? Any lost stuff tends to gather there. It's usually located at the front of the machine. I have removed coins from there before so it may be worth giving it a go. Also check in the rubber seal around the door - I have removed plastic army figures and Lego from there. The link should explain it better.
