Removing ink stains from clothing

DH managed to splatter ink all over his t-shirt when changing the cartridge in the printer. I soaked it in cold water, and then washed it but the stain is still there. Any tips on how to get rid of it>

found this on t'internet:

1. Place an absorbent paper towel or rag under the stain.
2. Saturate the stain with an alcohol-based hair spray.
3. Blot the stain with a rag or paper towel.
4. Repeat, if necessary, until stain is removed.
5. Launder as usual.

Tips:

1. Test the hair spray on an inconspicuous area first.
