Ikea Mattresses, any good?

We desperately need a new mattress. We're thinking Ikea, possibly the HÖVÅG Pocket sprung mattress, as it seems a good price at under £200 and we can't stretch to much more than that. Any recommendations?

My dd has that mattress on her bed and I love it!

I have a memory foam one from dreams which I also love 💕

We have an IKEA mattress - hyllestad - which I think is their most expensive. It was a lot cheaper than other brands. I’m so pleased with it. We chose a pretty firm one which is what we wanted after our old memory foam mattress was so soft and sweaty.

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend trying the different ‘firmnesses’ in the store as there’s quite a range. One complaint- the delivery was shocking - they ripped off the packaging in our hallway and shoved the mattress up the stairs, getting it dirty on the hall floor Hmm

That's the mattress we have, it's a few years old now, cannot fault it, super comfortable, especially for the price.

shoved the mattress up the stairs, getting it dirty on the hall floor which is better than we managed, they refused to take ours up the stairs
We have the most expensive one too, and its very comfy. It's just the delivery that was shit.

We have one - cost £100 six years ago. It’s been absolutely fine. We’re just starting to consider getting a new one. We figured even if we bought a new one every year for ten years, it would be cheaper than a Silent Night or equivalent!

My favourite mattress was the cheapest spring one ikea did, I think it was £70 and it is amazing. It is at my parents house in their spare room and people always comment on how comfy it is!

A lot of the Ikea mattresses come rolled up so that you can easily take them home - we bought a single one (pocket sprung with foam, can't remember what it was called) and it went into our VW Up with one of the seats down, so it would have easily gone into a normal car boot.

I bought the hovag mattress and can't recommend it enough. Everyone who stays here says how comfortable it is. Best part of it was the fact it came rolled up and that a King size fitted into my car with one seat down and it was so easy to get up the stairs.

ChishandFips33 · 27/12/2018 15:09

We have a Hyllestad and the next cheapest (has a foam top layer) and love them both - far better than the ate our we paid ££££'s for

They have a great returns policy too

ChishandFips33 · 27/12/2018 15:09

Tempur not ate our!!!

masterstef · 27/12/2018 15:11

My son has the hovag and it's really good. I say this as someone who's spent over £1k on our own mattress as I'm quite picky. Easy to bring home in the car too as they're rolled up!

GourmetGold · 27/12/2018 19:01

Yes they're great! I've always bought IKEA mattresses. Have the Hovag pocket sprung one at the moment & it's really comfy.

OldSpeclkledHen · 27/12/2018 20:17

Love mine! Got the same as @ChishandFips33 it's very comfy!

I believe they do a 90 day(night) trial too 😉
