yes or no?

second-hand frock has wrinkles and could do with a refresh, but don't want to risk a wash. i have a floor steamer that i've barely used ((my floors)) that i think i can use as a garment steamer. would you risk it?

is silk/lurex outer, silk lined, fancy label, cost me £15...

I've steamed a vintage silk wedding dress. It is much safer than ironing, as you waft the steam from a slight distance. Keep the dress on a hanger, eg hanging from a door frame. Hold the fabric taut as you go over it and keep the steam moving. You'll soon see if it's working for you. Good luck!

Forgot to say, be careful not to burn yourself! Best to wear a glove on the hand holding the fabric, just in case.
