Black and white tiles

Am thinking of laying a hall floor with black and white Fired Earth encaustic victorian black and white tiles but am worried they will show the dirt. To be fair they are off white and not glossy but I am not one to spend too much time on housework, and I have dogs!
Do you think I would be better to go for a more colourful Victorian encaustic patterned tile to hide the dirt?

I've had both - black and white definitely need more cleaning. The colourful are much more practical.

My grandparents had black and white in their kitchen. Had to be cleaned constantly, the moment it was clean the white tiles would get dirty again and the contrast with the black tiles meant any dirt/crumbs/wet really showed. Go for patterned every time!!

We’ve got 90 year old black and white tiles. They do show the dirt but it makes me clean them. I’ve got a microfibre mop so it’s juat a case of squirting some cleaner and a bit of hot water. Takes a minute, literally.

We had them in our previous house and I was constantly cleaning and I wouldn’t use them again. They look nice when done but just the cleaning.

We just had our 2 bathrooms done and this time we went for the grey natural look tiles inside the showers, dark grey on the floor and then abit light one on the walls.
