Does anyone want to join me in a major sort-out and tidy-up before Christmas?

The house is in a terrible state. It's always a struggle to stay on top of it, but I've been really stressed at work recently and it's just out of control. It's really getting me down and I feel overwhelmed just thinking about it, but I can't decorate a shit tip, so it needs to be dealt with.

Is anyone else in a similar boat and up for joining me? I need some encouragement, that's for sure!

Starting now...

Using the konMari method

Get out everything of a catagory in one place and decide what you're keeping. Keep if needed or sparks joy.

Get rid of what's left

See you in many hours

I’m an unfucker, but keep forgetting the before photos. Also the junk from the areas that are unfucked accumulates in other places which then need more unfucking, but I think I’m making small progress. I’ve deep cleaned the bathroom and reset some smaller areas.
As op, have been so busy it’s diffcult to keep on top of things.

Late to the party but can I join please? Not having visitors, have long standing health issue but bedroom is a top and I have no motivation to tidy. I can do more than I am.

DS' chicken pox has hugely delayed me! And now we're a few days away from his birthday, we're already getting more 'stuff'. All lovely stuff, but it means something needs to go to make room for it.

I've got today and tomorrow to get the house at least superficially clean and tidy for Saturday and hope DS doesn't open cupboards in front of guests.

Consider doing the Marie Kondo method in the New Year when the chaos of Christmas is over. I did it in Jan / Feb / March which are quieter months and it was really satisfying.

We’re suddenly doing lots of DIY. I’m not sure what came over me.
