Whiff! A really smelly problem

My ds opened a couple of fish oil capsules and sprayed them around (I know i know...!) There's a few streaks up the wall and its also gone on his brand new expensive hoody. This was about a week ago and the smell is VILE. I've washed down the walls and air the room every day but still the smell lingers. On his hoody, I've washed it, sprayed with febreze, re-washed using loads of fabric conditioner, hung outside for several days.... the smell disappears when it's still wet from washing, then emerges again as it dries. Any ideas???

are you using a biological washing powder? Fabric conditioner will not shift that oil, you need something else and I think a strong bio might do the trick.

Boi wash detergent or you could try a degreaser spray to dissolve the oil, may alter the colour tho.

Should get rid of the smell.

beware leaving hoody to soak too long if it has metal studs, zip etc as more corrode/rust/discolour.

yeah, good idea about the de-greasing cos it def needs something to attack the oil. What kind of de-greaser spray do you mean tho? Forgot to add I also tried soaking in washing up liquid as these are supposed to act as de-greasers but it didn;t work.
