It's silly I suppose to feel sentimental about a microwave, but our trusty friend died this evening. It was happily heating some leftover pasta and it just stopped and went dark 
. We've checked the fuse to no avail. It had done us well over 7 1/2 years, happily sitting in the corner heating up my cold cups of coffee.
So here I am, feeling guilty, already looking at replacements.
Our number one requirement is that the door needs to be hinged at the bottom due to the location in the kitchen. It also needs to be a decent size, and ideally black. It has to be freestanding.
I've been looking online and Panasonic and Samsung both seem to do bottom hinged models, with a dazzling array of features. Our last one was a microwave with grill, although we only ever used the microwave function. Now there are all sorts like steam functions. I'm not sure if I would actually use any other function beyond the microwave.
So, can I ask you to help me find a replacement?
