Well I did not think to check the care label on a beanie hat I bought today. Label off, happily wearing around the house I was so pleased with it, catching myself in all the mirrors and preening..

So pleased I checked the label to see if I could get it in ALL THE COLOURS and horror found a dry clean only label staring at me Sad

It's 70% merino and 30% cashmere. Please tell me if I might be able to get away with a handwash? Or will it felt and shrink to doll size??

Thanks in advance

Cool handwash will be fine. It won't need it for a long while, they feel/smell fresh for aaaaages in normal wear.

Cool hand wash, reshape whilst damp and dry flat. You could press it between two towel to remove excess water...or i put hand knit stuff in the salad spinner.
