Cordless vacuum efficient pet hair hard floors and easy to empty

Recommendations please for a cordless vacuum.
We currently have a Dyson one not sure which model but it’s not the most efficient and is always breaking down.
We have mainly hard flooring downstairs but have some carpets and two rugs.
We have a big hairy dog and a husband and two kids who trail mud through the house and dropping crumbed (so I am forever hoovering and emptying the barrel so I wish that was bigger and easier to empty).
Thanks

Go on the Which website, and look at their recommendations.

Thanks. Do you not have to be a member? I just wanted to ask real life mumsnetters for their experiences. I always used to love Dyson but our main one is a Dyson which ways a ton it’s seldom used for this reason unless the cordless breaks down but I don’t rate either machine now. I wondered whether anyone with hairy pets and who uses it a lot had experiences of either the Vax or Shark or any other cordless vacuum models and how they rated them.

I love my Dyson V6 cordless. Not too heavy, does about 20 mins on full charge, needs emptying every time used or it gets sulky. I'm often washing the filter, but I still love it.

We have two under 5's and a cat with mainly wooden or tiled floors throughout and we have a dyson v5 cordless. I find it pretty useless on wooden floors to be honest. It's quite high maintenance with filter cleaning and brush cleaning and whatever else, possibly because it's an older model. It's unlikely that I'll upgrade it.

I have a Dyson V6 Animal, a Shark and a Henry.
Carpet up stairs, tiles/laminate downstairs. 4 kids and a Rottweiler.

Shark lost its suction after a few goes despite emptying, cleaning out brushes and filters. Currently hidden in s cupboard.
Henry is good but DP takes it to work so I rarely use.
Dyson is better than Shark. Crap battery life but I find it's brilliant with the dog fur.

We've got a Henry and I tend to use that on the wooden floors now and save the dyson for the carpeted stairs. We've had our Henry for 17 years. I hate his smug face when he tips over but he is reliable!

Got a cordless Vax from Lidl. We have a very fluffy cat. It seems to work really well.

I’ve got a vax blade, it’s utter shite. Has no sucking power at all, won’t even hoover up icing sugar! A complete waste of time and money.

RhubarbAndCustards · 13/11/2018 20:25

We had a dyson cordless which lasted but couldn’t handle the dog hair after a while. Just got a cordless Shark liftaway. It’s amazing!!!!
