Clothes horse advice

They call them maidens up north. Or clothes horses in fancier areas. Argos and John Lewis opt for the classier 'clothes airer'.

I'm basically after a recommendation for a good one. This is our current broken model:

The Minky Plus 21m 3 Tier Indoor Clothes Drier
www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3896871.htm?cmpid=APP003

It has a good shape, nice rounded bars and some extendable clips to hang more clothes from. I really like it however it came with one of the clips missing and now one of the legs are broken. We've had it since January.

Frustratingly, this seems to be the best rated one on Argos. Others have reviews that say flimsiness or rough joints that clothes snag on. I even looked at John Lewis at a £40 one but that had poor reviews too.

I am after one of this same classic type - tall and similar size - as there's not much room for anything else.

As I write my post about clothes horses I do realise I've hit peak mumsnet.

I think we have an Addis one which is similar to the Minky one. Have had it for years and years. I also have a tower airer which I bought after it was recommended on here

I have the concertina one. Picked it up from Tesco, not sure if Minky or Asda

I also have the Lakeland airer similar style to the second link - I find the concertina a better design/space for drying

Can you buy another then take your broken one back on that receipt in a few weeks time?

I also got one from Tesco it's been fine

I have the square one that demented pixie linked too, I've had it about 10 years. Bits of plastic have snapped off where the kids were too rough, but all I've lost is the hanging bit at the end. If it broke completely, I would buy the same again, it really takes so much stuff, has wheels, you can make it half a wide, it's truly a thing to behold, a thing of beauty. And practicality.

Thanks guys. So the square one is impressive but I have a feeling it would just be too big. Maybe I will go back to the Minky again.

I have that exact Minky one, I've had it for about 3 years now and it still looks brand new. Very possible you got a faulty one!
