I have (what I assume!) is a cast iron fireplace hearth that is black in colour. Thanks to some over-enthusiastic scrubbing whilst cleaning it earlier this year, a small amount of the black colour has worn off the front of it to show the metal underneath. Is there any way I can restore this - using hearth paint perhaps? I tried the polish but that hasn't worked.
If anyone has any advice or recommendations for products, I would be grateful to know.
